Member Survey Feedback Results in Policy Change
Powerco recently conducted a brief online member survey where we obtained some valuable feedback from our members. A number of members expressed frustration over our home banking login policy that requires members to login to their accounts once every 90 days or else they lose the ability to access their accounts via our home banking system.
We value the opinions of our members and as a result we have changed this policy. Effective immediately the login policy has been extended to 180 days. This means that as long as members login to their account once every 180 days their ability to access the home banking system will be unaffected. In the event that a member attempts to login to their account after 180 days of inactivity they will need to contact the Credit Union to have their home banking access restored.

Key Bank ATMs – No Longer Surcharge Free!
We were recently notified by Key Bank that beginning May 1, 2009 that they will begin to discontinue the program that allowed credit union members to utilize their ATM machines without charging a surcharge fee. Although they have not given us a firm date as to when they will discontinue this service for Powerco members we want to let members know that at some point in the near future Key Bank will start charging a fee each time a Powerco member uses one of their ATMs.
We are encouraging all of our members to STOP using Key Bank ATM machines so that these unnecessary fees can be avoided. Powerco members still have lots of surcharge-free ATM options available to them. Click on the link below to search for ATMs that can be used surcharge free:

Credit Union members being targeted in cell phone phishing scam.
We have received numerous calls from members today informing us that they received a text message via their cell phone alerting them to contact the credit union because their account has been suspended. This is a SCAM and members are advised not to respond to this text message in any way. As of this point Powerco has not specifically been targeted but we are receiving a number of calls from concerned members. Powerco will never ask you to provide personal information or credit card information via text message or via our home banking system. Please contact our office if you have any questions. |

Powerco members now have the ability to view their VISA account history and make payments online. This is a free service that is available to all members who have a Powerco Credit Union VISA Credit Card.
